Hello, I’m Lara.

Omolara (Lara) Tommy Kareem, a Nigerian multidisciplinary artist and literary enthusiast based in Lagos.

I am known online as Naija Book Bae, the literary brand through which I work as a literary blogger, reviewer, promoter, professional reader, bookstagrammer, and booktuber.

I am also the founder of Sona Books Limited, a growing publishing and reading company building new ways for stories especially African to reach readers.

My published portfolio spans non-fiction, contemporary romance, short stories, speculative fiction, and the novella Àànú Ifẹ́. My visual practice includes art and photography, often meeting my writing in projects that explore love, resilience, memory, and healing.

When I’m not working on a literary project, I’m likely watching a K-drama or anime, reading manhwa and manga, or spending time with my cat, Ekko.
